We stayed two nights at Super 8 Poughkeepsie. They were very busy the weekend that we stayed there due to a number of events in the area. The check-in staff was pleasant and friendly. Our room was large--in fact it seemed very empty. We had a king sized bed and there would have been room for a sleeper sofa or a nice comfy chair and ottoman. Instead there was a very basic chair and a lot of empty space. The room was, for the most part, clean. The bed was comfortable, but one of the king sized pillows had a standard sized pillowcase, so it was partly uncovered. We didn't sleep very well . The walls were way too thin--could hear TV next door for the entire night. Woke several times during the night and could hear it and feel the vibration. It was still playing in the morning. Could hear people walking around in the room above us, too. The floors in the hallway were littered with dried leaves and didn't seem to get swept during our stay. The shower head didn't work. Fortunately my husband is mechanically inclined and was able to fix it. The maid neglected to clean up a paper cup we had left on the nightstand and also neglected to refresh the supply of coffee for the coffeemaker after our first night. A continental breakfast was provided, which was very basic. We took our own wheat bread and made it in the toaster. The cranberry juice was good. They ran out of orange juice and never refilled it. No irons in the rooms, but we were able to borrow one from the front desk with no problem. Again, the staff was very helpful.

business trip stayed 6/22/09. The kingsize bed was every bit as comfortable as my bed at home, the pillows were great also. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. Young lady on the desk was helpful in pointing me to a local restaurant for dinner. If I have to travel to that part of New York again, I will definitely stay here.
